Training for Righteousness
Important things require preparation. Just as an athlete must train to compete, or a soldier for battle, so we must train for strength in the Spirit. Paul wrote Timothy, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,” Through prayer, study, and meditation on Jesus Christ and the Scripture, we develop spiritual muscle and skill to run the race set before us
May 24 Ready for Battle Ephesians 6:10-18
We do not train for the sake of training, we train to be strong in the Lord in the face of our battles. The Apostle Paul encourages us to, “put on the whole armor of God,” so that we can stand in the day of battle. No matter what we are facing, God will be with us and will give us the tools to stand strong in the midst of the struggle, and to experience the victory that is ours in Jesus Christ.
